Zeitgeist solutions for the world

Peter Joseph says that “To understand the solutions, you really need to understand what the problems are.”
As the founder of The Zeitgeist Movement, Joseph is using a series of films to show the world that a corrupt system is causing a crumble of not just the American way, but the world as we know it.
Joseph told RT that society could “provide for literally the entire human species if we can put our mind to it.” According to him, however, capitalism works in a fashion where we aren’t creating an environment that is sustainable. Rather, he says, the world is only creating filler positions that aren’t helping the problems facing the globe but only adding to them. “We aren’t making things that help anyone,” he said to RT.
To remedy that, Joseph says people all over the world need to rethink the way we do things. There needs to be a re-ordering of how materials are engaged, how production is seen through and how people actually contribute to society. “We live off of resources,” said Joseph to RT. “If you organize those resources and make efficient production of them,” he says that people could engage in occupations that aren’t humdrum and mundane.
Until that happens, said Joseph, the world is worsening. “The jobs are not coming back across the board,” he said.“They can’t.” If, however, we can use technology to free ourselves and create an entirely different social system that is based off of maximizing efficiency, sustainability can allow for a new world that would be better for everyone.
He calls it the Zeitgeist Movement, but Joseph says it’s simply a resource-based economy. “What is the foundation of human society?” he asked. “It’s resources.” If society is restructured in a way to make the most of those resources, our lives could be changed drastically. Scientists are off on military operations instead of helping the world, said Joseph. He says starvation could be stopped if we just change the way we manipulate and manage our resourced, but first the world needs to adapt to a resource-based economic model.
With “everything as sufficient and productive as possible, technically,” Joseph says the Zeitgeist Movement can begin. There’d be no monetary evaluation or association, for all that does is interfere, he says. And government? They create laws to regulate economic functions and wage wars only to better themselves.
Through his movement, Joseph says he’s is just trying to update society with the knowledge of today. Is the world as we know it that archaic? Not necessarily, but Joseph believes that our brains could be better used towards benefiting everyone, but it’ll take more than just a few people to sign on and make it happen.
